Hypospadias

Meaning

Hypospadias is a condition that occurs as the baby in the womb, called a fetus, develops. The opening of the urethra is on the inside of the penis rather than at the tip. It is the tube that drains urine from the bladder out of the body.

Hypospadias is a very common condition and will not pose any particular problem in caring for your baby. Surgery can usually create a penis that is sufficiently shaped to appear normal in all ways. In the case of successful treatment of hypospadias, most males are able to pass water normally. And with successful hypospadias, the condition will prevent sperm from traveling to fertilize an egg.

Cause of Hypospadias

Hypospadias is a congenital anomaly. In the male fetus, at the time of the development of the penis, certain hormones guide the growth of the urethra and the foreskin.

In Hypospadias results abnormal action of these hormones. The sides of the urethral folds fail to combine totally. The site of the opening of the urethra depends on the action of fusing.

The exact causes of hypospadias are unknown. At other times, gene changes may lead to hypospadias, while in other instances, environmental factors also include

Hypospadias Symptoms

In hypospadias, the opening of the urethra occurs on the inner side of the penis and not on the head. It is inside the head of the penis for most. It is extremely rare to have the opening in or under the scrotum.

Symptoms of hypospadias may include:

  • This opening of the urethra is at a place other than the tip of the penis.
  • The curvature of the penis points downward. This is known as chordee.
  • The penis appears hooded since only the upper part of the penis is covered by the foreskin.
  • Sprinkling while urinating differs.

RISK FACTORS

Though it is often unknown why hypospadias occurs, some conditions might be linked to this disorder.

  • Family history- Hypospadias is more common in infants with a family history of hypospadias.
  • Genes changes within the genes may lead to differences in certain hormones that regulate the formation of male genitalia.
  • Advanced maternal age Advanced maternal age is, in fact, over the age of 35. Some studies suggest that hypospadias risk increases in male babies if born to women aged greater than 35 years.
  • A review of these studies implies that exposure to some chemicals during pregnancy, like particular pesticides or industrial chemicals, poses an elevated risk for hypospadias. Researchers are studying a possible link between hypospadias and exposure to specific hormones or kinds of substances, like pesticides or industrial chemicals.

COMPLICATIONS

Most important issue: Hypospadias may result in differences in how the penis looks.

  • Such problems include learning how to use a toilet.
  • An erection with an unusual curve of the penis.
  • Some men fail to efficiently release sperm from the penis.
  • This discharge is referred to as an ejaculation.

HOMOEOPATHIC TREATMENT FOR HYPOSPADIAS

The homeopathic approach to hypospadias treatment emphasizes more on a child’s general state than curing the disorder anatomically.

Homoeopathy often gains popularity among parents because of the holistic strategy of homeopathy: an improvement in overall well-being, and reduction in symptoms.

Homeopathic Medicines for Hypospadias-

  • Causticum: Is given in cases with dysfunctional urination.
  • Calcarea Carbonica: In children who are slow to develop, that is children with developmental delayed growth. It might have other congenital conditions. It is commonly recommended in children to delay their development.
  • Silicea: This remedy might be useful in healing.
