Stress can be positive, keeping us alert, motivated, and it can even be essential to survival. The body’s fight-or-flight mechanism tells a person when and how to respond to danger and ready to avoid danger.

If the stress is continuous or there are too many stressors at one time, it can lead to physical and mental health issues.  When a person senses stress, certain hormones come into action that either helps fight the situation or run away from it. The hormones released in stressful conditions include cortisol and adrenaline. These lead to increased heart rate, alertness, accelerated breathing, high blood pressure, and tightening of muscles. Stress can be divided into 2 types :

  • Acute Stress
  • Chronic Stress

Acute Stress:
